Service Writer

Ascendance Truck Centers formerly Mid-State Truck Service Inc. is hiring a full-time, Service Writer in our Marshfield Dealership.
This position integrates all aspects within our service department. The Service Report Writer will order parts and complete work orders and reports. Writer will enter details of diagnoses into computer system and prepare detailed instructions for service technicians. The position offers independence and flexibility while being part of a team. Wages are dependent upon experience.
Job Description: The Service Writer will be responsible for assisting the Service Manager in running an efficient and profitable shop.
-Inspect the vehicle and recommend additional services as needed.
-Provide a complete and accurate written cost estimate for labor and parts.
-Make every effort to be sure any parts, paint, materials or supplies used or leaving the company inventories are properly billed to appropriate repair order or party.
-Maintain a method of follow up for customer satisfaction.
-Resolve any customer and employee complaints or concerns, if unable, report to and assist management in resolving them.
-Meet and greet service customers, taking service calls from customers to schedule appointments.
-Advise customers of estimated service and repair costs and review details of service/repair invoice with customer to gain their understanding of all services provided.
-Determine progress of repair/service orders and inform customer accordingly.
-Review results of customer satisfaction surveys with service managers.
-Address customer's questions/needs promptly and respectfully.
Qualifications: No experience necessary but applicant must have detailed knowledge of mechanical equipment and parts for basic understanding. Previous experience as a service writer, service adviser, or team leader is preferred.
