Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Specialist to join our accounting team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portion of the company's accounts payable process, ensuring accurate and timely payments to vendors, and maintaining strong financial controls. This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a strong understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

-Process and manage incoming invoices from vendors, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.

-Prepare and enter payment batches into the accounting system.

-Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies or issues.

-Ensure timely payment of bills and maintain an up-to-date schedule of payables.

-Assist with month-end closing by preparing accounts payable reports and assisting in account reconciliations.

-Respond to inquiries from vendors and internal departments regarding payment status and other related issues.

-Maintain proper documentation of all transactions, including invoice approvals and payment records.

-Support the preparation of audits and assist with internal controls for the accounts payable process.

-Assist with other accounting duties as needed.

Qualifications:

-High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate's degree in accounting or related field a plus.

-Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounts payable or similar role.

-Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).

-Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills.

-Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

-Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.

-Knowledge of accounting principles and financial regulations.

-Preferred Skills:

-Experience with automated accounts payable systems is a plus.

-Experience in a dealership setting is a plus.
